Secret Island Party: Event Management

Project Description

 

Secret Island Party [SIP] is a whimsical 3-day indie festival of creativity, homegrown live music, DJ’s and performing art on a secret location on one of Hong Kong’s balmy islands away from the hustle & bustle of city life.

 

The challenge? Increase Hushup’s overall revenue through beverage sales & restaurant participation. From 16 – 18 October 2015, Hushup launched its third edition of The Secret Island Party. The stakes were two-fold: one for festival-goers to have more points of purchase. Two, to keep the operation cost low and profit margin high. How? Firstly, attract significant product beer sponsorship from Corona and increase the overall beverage prices [alcoholic & non-alcoholic] between 15 – 20%.  Two, a unique volunteer proposition: volunteer behind the bar for a few hours and get a free entry to the festival.

 

Serving as SIP’s Food & Beverage Manager, I managed more than 20 staff, overseeing 4 bars. Together with the team we managed to realize the biggest F&B revenue in since its inception in 2013.
