Project Description

 

The Gay Games are a quadrennial 9-day multi-sports & cultural event promoting inclusion, diversity & acceptance while celebrating sportsmanship. Inclusive in nature, anyone and everyone can compete whether you are straight, gay or somewhere in between regardless of qualifying ability. It's an inclusive event across all spectrums of sexual orientation, gender, race, religion & nationality. In 2022, Hong Kong will host the Games from 11-19 November.

 

CapitaBeing part of the Gay Games Festival Village Team - central hub & meeting point for athletes, spectators & the general public to enjoy a variety of events & experiences - leading up to 2022, I will either lead or assist in the planning, development, preparation & implementation of a variety of event programs to ensure a correct representation of the Gay Games brand and achieve positive publicity for its #UnityInDiversity core concept message.

In association with the outreach team, I assisted in breathing life into a hybrid outreach event concept combining a live audience with live streaming, which can be easily tweaked and replicated to fit any future topic.

The first edition was a 6-panel 'Town Hall Affair' at The Peninsula Hong Kong to celebrate the official 2-year countdown of the Gay Games Hong Kong 2022. The discussion on the purpose, mission & impact was attended by 30+ Hong Kong-based influencers/KOLs and was live-streamed around the world with a virtual audience of 177 people from 29 countries.
